Exciting news for any Android members this week! We released our Reviews app to the Play Store today.
In April this year, we re-released our Reviews app for iOS. This was predominantly to provide a more reliable application that worked both on and offline. The app allows members to access over 8,000 Which? product reviews, providing test results, our unbiased views, technical specs and our unique Which? scores on their smartphone.
So, why iOS first and then Android?
Earlier this year, we made a hard decision to prioritise our iOS platform in order to get a MVP (Minimum Viable Product, not Most Valuable Player!) out to our members. This was purely a numbers game; around 80% percent of our online member audience are iOS users. Since then, the main priority for our Mobile team has been to deliver the same experience to our Android-owning members.
What’s next for the Mobile team?
We are currently working on allowing users to compare products in a simple grid structure, hopefully making it easier for them to make purchase decisions. Additionally, the desire for the inclusion of advice articles within the Reviews app is something that has been fed back from many of our iOS users – and we appreciate this is something the app is lacking. Discussions are underway on how we can support this. Keep your eyes peeled!
In the meantime, if you are an existing iOS user or a potential new Android user please feel free to get in touch with any feedback to help us mould the app to help you make the best product decisions via firstname.lastname@example.org.
